KONTAKT 2 from Native Instruments is a software sampler that offers a comprehensive set of features flexibility performance and a high degree of compatibility. KONTAKT 2 incorporates five different sampler modes ranging from classic sample playback to real-time pitch shifting time-stretching and precise drum loop slicing. Ingenious mapping group and loop editors as well as over thirty filters and effects including Convolution Effects along with a vast modulation section together provide all the tools necessary for any sampling duties. The software's modular architecture guarantees near-limitless possibilities. Modules can be arranged within the interface (drag and drop) to meet exact individual needs while customizing the signal flow for truly unique results. The browser offers a concise overview of samples the modules the virtual rack and more. Kontakt II functions as follows: Stand-alone under ASIO DirectSound or Core Audio Plug-in for applications supporting VST AU and RTAS for Mac OS X Plug-in for applications supporting VST RTAS and DXi for Windows XP
