Microsoft XP Professional With Service Pack 2

For Windows NT Windows 98 Windows 2000 Windows Me Windows XP Windows 95, PC - Standard, Academic
Microsoft Windows XP Professional :  is the next version of the Windows operating system, which is designed for businesses of all sizes, and for individuals who demand the most from their computing experience. Windows XP Professional goes beyond the benefits of Windows XP Home Edition with advanced capabilities designed specifically to optimize productivity using the latest advancements in the digital world. Built on the solid foundation of Windows 2000, Windows XP Professional provides improved reliability, security, performance and ease of use, setting the new standard in efficient and dependable computing. Microsoft Windows XP  provides an enhanced security infrastructure that defends against viruses, worms, and hackers, along with increased manageability and control for IT professionals and an improved experience for users. By alerting you to potentially unsafe attachments, Windows XP  helps guard your computer from viruses that can spread through Internet Explorer, Outlook Express, and Windows Messenger. Internet Explorer download monitoring and the Internet Explorer Information Bar warn you about potentially harmful downloads and give you the option to block files that could be malicious. Internet Explorer Pop-Up Blocker makes browsing the Internet more enjoyable by helping you reduce the unwanted ads and content that pop up when you're browsing the Web. The powerful, built-in Windows Firewall is now turned on by default. This helps protect Windows XP against viruses and worms that can spread over the Internet. The new Windows Security Center allows you to easily view your security status and manage key security settings in one convenient place. With SP2 you can get the latest updates easily. Enhancements to Windows XP's Automatic Updates feature make it even easier to access Windows updates. Plus, new technology has been added to help dial-up customers download updates more efficiently. Improvements to Outlook Express help reduce unwanted e-mail by limiting the possibility of your e-mail address being validated by potential spammers. The new Add-On Manager in Internet Explorer lets you easily view and control add-ons to reduce the potential for crashes and enjoy a more trouble-free browsing experience. SP2 improves wireless support and simplifies the process of discovering and connecting to wireless networks in your home or on the road.Full Specs: Pricing Level : Standard License :Complete package Product Type : Retail Media Format : CD-ROM Max License Size : 1 user Required Processor Class : Intel Pentium Required Processor Speed : 233 MHz Required Memory : 64 MB Required Disk Space : 1.5 GB Note: This is not Academic, Not just CD's, Not OEM, Not Upgrade, Not bundle. A Dream to use, but don't change hardware.
Review From: bivens_gary@yahoo.com, Mar 11, 2005  | See All Reviews
I love this version of windows, since I have used all of them, since Windows was just a TSR back in 1984...Windows 286, 3.0, 3.1, 95, 98/SE, ME, and 2K. This version has it all including most all of the drivers included for just about all hardware, but just don't start changing hardware too often or you will have to re-activate it. I changed the motherboard with onboard audio, video and SATA HD and more RAM in my computer and Windows XP Pro would not activate because of extensive hardware changes, and had to explain to the MS representative about it and then I was drilled as to how many computers I had it installed on. Just the one. Anyway...it is a good product, but I can't give it 5 stars. If it happens again, I have an unused Windows 2K to install on it. Had to reactivate Office as well, and that is another story.

Re-activation, try Linux
Review From: Ken Birnie, Dec 16, 2005
Get lost to re-activation is Microsoft's answer to hardware changes. Worse, I paid for their products to get "sorry, you cant talk to anyone!". Message recieved from big ugly corp: Buy linux!

It is so easy to use. I am 13 and I could work with it. I use it for my schoolwork and it makes it easy because I am in a program that teaches you higher learning stuff. Xp changed how I did Sciencefair History Day and all my other hard work.

Windows xp professional is the best windows out.
Review From: Craig Robertson, Aug 30, 2003
Windows xp professional is the beat out of all the windows versions. It makes everything simple and safe to do or use. It's graphics are more advanced. One of the best things is if you have forgotten something from work you can just accees your work computer from hom and work away. In conclusion I think that windows xp professional is the best there has ever been.

Excellent O.S better than ever.
Review From: yo, May 17, 2003
This has got all the features and offers new ones as well, so what if it doesn't restart in DOS because of the NT technology, who needs that. It's the best, especially Professional because it Encryts to secure data.

Come on Guys
Review From: al@jerkface.com, Jan 8, 2003  | See All Reviews
Other than those who feel that Apple is the only computer in the world, you have to give Microsoft props for a easy to use program that intigrates easy hardware installation. I have installed this on many a computer and the hardest thing I have ever had to do is have it search the web to get a driver. The programs installed are helpfull and I have had very few (OLD) programs that have any issues with it.

It had to grow on me, but it also grew in RAM size consumed simultaneously.
Review From: FateAki, Sep 12, 2002
With no applications running except Symantic's Internet Security 135MB of RAM is consumed. XP is a memory hog.
