Works great for me.
Review From: Jason B, Sep 6, 2006
I don't know what the other poor comments are about, but this works fine for me. I live in a rental with the world's cheapest carpet that stains just by looking at it. The ProHeat cleaned that cheap carpet like new and got out all of the stains that it had. You do have to follow the instructions when using this machine or you will get overly wet carpet. My carpet took about an hour to dry and looks great. This model is easy to use and I would recommend it to the home user only. If you want a professional carpet cleaner this is not for you. It's good for stains removal, not carpet restoration.

Great while it lasts
Review From: G.A. Renfrow, Jul 17, 2008
When I first used this cleaner I was very impressed with its cleaning abilities. That turned out to be short lived however when the brush drive belt failed after 2 months. Unable to purchase one locally I ordered it ( along with an extra ,plus a brush to brush belt ).That was fine for about another 3 months until the brush motor died on me last week. After researching this product I find that is a very common problem. So common its seems that I find it hard to believe that Bissell did not recall it or at least offer an extended warranty on the motor.Bissell's warranty is 1 year from purchase but since Mine sat in storage unopened for months I did not even get to enjoy the pleasure I have read others had of sending it off for repair and waiting 3 weeks or more for repair. This was the last purchase I will ever make from Bissell.

Very disappointing
Review From: Barbara, Oct 25, 2006
I previously owned a Bissell carpet cleaner and loved it. It took a lot of abuse. Thus, I wanted a Bissell replacement. I am VERY disappointed with the ProHeat 2X Select. The suction is very poor leaving my carpet extremely wet, unlike my old Bissell. The water reservoir is small and awkard. After three failed attempts with this machine, I am returning it.

GREAT CLEANER
Review From: Vincent Carotenuto, Sep 6, 2006
we were all set to replace our carpeting to numerous stains from walking on a new redwood deck and back into the house. Bought the 9400 and we can't believe, the stains are GONE !!. The carpet dried in 3 hours and even feels good to walk on. Very pleased with this machine, saved me $ 4000.00 in carpetin fees. Thanks Bissell for a great product. If it never works again, it saved me a bundle !.

Very Nice Machine
Review From: Dr. J, May 22, 2006
Returned another brand that was not acceptable and decided to try the Bissell. Pulled out the parts to assemble and found out that I was missing the screws to attach the handle. Not much fun but easy to fix with a quick trip to the hardware store. Bladder seems small and requires frequent refills. Have not tried many of the devices but I'm impressed that there are so many. Satisfied so far and the results seem to be great based on the dirty water that came out of my carpet.

It works well
Review From: mother of 3 , Apr 11, 2006
Read instructions first, manual is easy to understand. Handle plastic reservoir carefully and as long as you have the right attitude, cleaning is a breeze. It is very portable and changing water is easy. I would recommend it to all mothers. Clean the equipment after each use to prevent blockage following the cleaning directions in the manual. Easy storage. Easy cleaning. Our first Bissel back in 1980 which was huge and bulky also still works. We are hooked to Bissell and loyal to the brand name. Believe me! I'm an efficient housekeeper and mother of 3.

I've had the above carpet cleaner for about 2 years. I've torn it apart more then 10 times to repair it. The problem with these models is numerous. One major problem is the water reservoir. The inside bladder develops leaks and allows the dirty water to contaminate the clean water. The heater inside the handle clogs up at every other time we used it. Today I went to use it, and it started to whine, and then smoke, and poof, it quit. I tore it down to find the bearing inside the motor failed, and refuses to allow the motor to run. It's now sitting at the curb ready for trash day. I'm a mechanic, not a miracle worker. Anyone wanting a smart bottle, just email your request to CTerrian@hotmail.com. I would gladly send it to you. What a waste of money.

Very poor
Review From: Mrs James Engelhardt, Feb 2, 2006
Used the MCE7900 once cleaning up smoke damage around sofa. Used the motorized hand tool which had no suction, brush rolled only occasionally, squirted out too much solution when it did squirt. While the hand tool is in use the brushs on the base unit continues to rotate at full speed in one place roughing up the nap on the carpet and laid a 8" black mark on the carpet from the overheating of the belts. Service site was not willing to see the return completely through. Overall, a very bad experience.

Don't waste your time
Review From: D.L. Brown, Jan 30, 2006
This machine uses a lot of soap, leaves the carpet extremely wet. Using hot water caused the fresh water fill whole to shrink to the point it would fall through the holder, and made the diameter of the hole half as big. I had to use warm water, which I feel did not clean as well as the hot water would have. Cleaning was time consuming as I had to stop every 5 to 10 minutes to refill the small fresh water/ dirty water tank, which was empty before the dirty water was half way to the full line telling me it was leaving half the water behind. The carpet took three days to dry completely with the aid of a dehumidifier. It took a day and a half to dry with the dehumidifier and two fans.
