EZ Upgrade makes upgrading notebook hard drives as easy as 1-2-3. Thisinnovative kit includes all the hardware and software needed to painlesslytransfer all the data from an old hard drive to a new hard drive in 3 easysteps. If that's not enough, EZ Upgrade transforms the old hard drive from thenotebook into a portable Hi-Speed USB 2.0 external backup and/or storagesolution. EZ Upgrade is all you will need to easily transfer everything - data,applications, documents, address books, email, settings, OS, and preferences- from the old hard drive to a new drive, in 3 easy steps. First, connect the hardware by sliding the new hard drive into the EZUpgrade enclosure and connecting to the notebook's USB port. Second, run EZGig II's cloning utility by booting to the CD. Lastly, install the new harddrive into the notebook. That's it -you're finished!Once the new drive is installed, the old drive can be used in EZ Upgrade'sHi-Speed USB 2.0 enclosure for external storage. When used with EZ Gig II,the external drive becomes a state-of-the-art backup solution.The EZ Gig II Data Transfer Utility that ships with EZ Upgrade is comprisedof two different modules: Clone EZ and Image EZ. Clone EZ creates an exact clone of a hard drive and is perfect for upgradinghard drives, or for a creating a Disaster Recovery clone - the ultimatebackup solution. Image EZ is an ideal backup tool. Image EZ creates a compressed "image" ofan entire hard drive, or an individual partition of a hard drive. At itsmaximum setting, Image EZ can compress data to less than 1/2 its originalsize, allowing backups to be made to a smaller hard drive, or multiplebackups to a large hard drive.Image EZ provides password protection for backup images, and a commentsfield so each image can be labeled and easily identified. Image EZ also hasa File Editor that allows editing or restoration of individual files orfolders.

I used this to upgrade a Dell Latitude C610. Even with slow USB on the Dell, Apricorn worked very well. Absolutely highly recommended for updating old notebook to large hard-drives.
